LASER IN-SITU KERATOMILEUSIS (LASIK) |
LASIK is a procedure that combines Lamellar Corneal Surgery to create a corneal flap, and then an Excimer Laser to remove microns of tissue. This results in an altering of the corneal surface and refocusing of the image on the retina reducing or eliminating nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.. LASIK is for patients 20 years of age or older with mild, moderate, and higher degrees of nearsightedness or farsightedness with or without astigmatism. You must have a stable refraction for at least one year prior to surgery. A complete eye exam is required prior to scheduling LASIK or any other refractive procedures to confirm candidacy. |

Photo Refractive Keratotomy (PRK) |
PRK is a procedure that uses the Excimer laser to reshape the cornea allowing light to correctly focus on the retina. The procedure microscopically alters the cornea surface. The doctor removes a microscopic layer of tissue from the surface of the cornea using the computerized Excimer Laser. PRK is for patients 20 years of age or older who are nearsighted with mild, moderate, and higher degrees of nearsightedness, or farsightedness with or without astigmatism. You must have stable refraction for at least one year prior to surgery. |

Radial Keratotomy (RK) |
Radial Keratotomy is the procedure where radial incisions on the cornea are performed to flatten and refocus images on the retina. The doctor uses specially designed diamond scalpels to make small radial incisions on the surface of the cornea. RK is for patients 21 years of age or older who are nearsighted (6 diopters or less) with or without astigmatism. You must have stable refraction for at least one year prior to surgery. |

Cataract Surgery |
| Surgery is the only way to remove a cataract from the eye. Dr. Keehn uses the no stitch cataract surgery method. The surgery is performed in an outpatient surgery center using a special microscope and instruments. The doctor makes a small incision without stitches. There is no hospital stay and patients may resume their normal activities almost immediately. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
